Trump was on the tarmac for just a few moments and boarded a US Navy helicopter, as seen on a live broadcast by the Keystone-SDA news agency. Shortly afterwards, the helicopter took off towards Evian, accompanied by other military aircraft. The meeting of the G7 countries is taking place in the French town on Lake Geneva.
In addition to Trump, the heads of state and government of France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan and Great Britain are taking part in the summit. Also on site are EU Council President Antonio Costa and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The invited countries also include Brazil, India, Kenya, South Korea and Syria.

The top politicians will be received in Geneva by Federal Councilor Guy Parmelin. He will hold talks with representatives of other delegations on the sidelines of the summit. Extraordinary security precautions were taken on the tarmac in Geneva, as a reporter from Keystone-SDA observed on site.
Parmelin met his Brazilian counterpart on Monday Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. The focus of the discussions was the free trade agreement between Efta and Mercosur, which was concluded in 2025. (dab/hkl/sda)
