Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced a cabinet reshuffle. He justified this, among other things, with a change in foreign policy strategy in order to strengthen relationships with key partners. He also spoke about this with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. “We have determined that the change requires a renewal of the cabinet of ministers,” he wrote on Telegram. He thanked Svyrydenko for her efforts and announced that he would offer her leadership in diplomacy with Ukraine’s most important partners.
Zelensky did not name a candidate to succeed Svyrydenko. The 40-year-old has only been in office as Prime Minister since July 2025. Previously, she was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine. As head of government, she replaced Denys Shmyhal, whom Zelensky had appointed before the start of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. (sda/dpa)
