The security concept envisages a significant increase in police and carabinieri forces. More control and prevention measures are to be implemented next weekend.
In addition, private security guards and security services are deployed on public transport and in busy areas. These should be in direct contact with the emergency services on site.
The first weekends of spring have already shown a significant increase in visitor numbers of around twelve percent, with peaks of up to 100,000 tourists on a single weekend.
Traffic monitoring will be increased
Traffic monitoring will also be increased, particularly along major traffic routes during weekends. During the Pentecost celebrations, the community is planning earlier curfews for bars, restrictions on the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages at certain times and a limit on the permitted volume of music.
Over 80,000 tourists are expected in Lignano at Pentecost. In recent years there have been repeated problems due to excessive drinking. (hkl/sda/apa)
