Station broadcasts Christmas message
After the station, which was founded in 1964, realized its mistake, it first apologized live on air and then online to the king and listeners for the “inconvenience caused.”
Moore said Radio Caroline had “had the pleasure of broadcasting Her Majesty the Queen’s Christmas message, and now the King’s, and we hope to continue to do so for many years to come.”
The son and successor of Queen Elizabeth II, who died in 2022, was on a visit to Northern Ireland when Radio Caroline mistakenly reported his death. The 77-year-old king continues to be treated for cancer. In December 2025 he spoke of success in the treatment.
