On May 13th, Luna Jordan suddenly passed away. Her agency announced this on Monday. Details of her death have not yet been disclosed. The young woman has been in front of the camera since she was a child and was last seen in “Polizeiruf 110: Your Body My Choice”. She was also known for the series “Euphorie”. Now statements she recently made about her work are coming to the fore.
In the NDR documentary “Child Actors – The Price of Success,” which was broadcast in February 2026, she said: “I am very happy to always have such demanding and complex roles.” Playing the perfect daughter or something similar wouldn’t have made her happy.
The 25-year-old has had many projects with very difficult social issues, such as sexual violence, domestic violence or mental difficulties. But it is precisely these roles that have also left their dark side in Jordan’s life. “I am convinced that you always take something away from every production, from every character,” she said in the documentary. “Emotional parts would become established in the brain.” Depending on the project, she thinks about whether filming would really be good for her and whether she can “go out of it healthy” afterwards.

She learned from previous experiences that she could no longer destroy herself for films. “Otherwise I won’t be able to do this job anymore when I’m 25.” Her insight: “You can’t lose sight of yourself during a production like this.” It is important that you can still recognize yourself in the mirror in the evening. At times she was no longer able to do this.
But tragically, it was exactly these kinds of roles that made her “give her a passion for the job.” She threw herself into projects, especially at the beginning of her career. “That was my new reality. These characters were the new me and I completely neglected my life around me,” she admitted. She was of the opinion that she could only achieve her acting performance “if I really gave up and destroyed myself so completely”. She was firmly convinced that she “must be feeling so bad mentally so that I can deliver”.
“I never took drugs or partied”
She stood in front of the camera for the first time when she was six years old. As a teenager, playing was “like a state of intoxication,” she reported in the documentary. “I never took drugs or partied, but always completely let myself go in projects where I was allowed to feel and play everything that I couldn’t do as a private Luna.”
She played scenes in which she then ended up in “a state from which I couldn’t find my way out.” As Jordan talked about it, she fought back tears. She sometimes lay on the floor crying for half an hour and didn’t know what was wrong with her. At the time, she found it fascinating what her body could do. “It was absurd because I didn’t have anyone to talk to about it.” She had the feeling that she was carrying the burden of several characters within her. One day, however, that was no longer the case.
