A stretcher bearer at a clinic in Hungary is said to have collected body parts and stored them in his apartment. The police announced this and are investigating the 30-year-old. The alleged case of cannibalism is said to have occurred in the capital Budapest.
During a house search, officials seized, among other things, human bones, a complete lower leg, the back of a hand, several skulls and a prepared human face. During the interrogations, the man stated that he was attracted to human body parts and had already cooked and eaten some.
Some of the body parts he got at his place of work and some he dug up in cemeteries in Hungary and neighboring Slovakia. It was said that he spoke openly about his pathological passion to his family and friends. He took photos of his “collection,” which were also confiscated.
The stretcher bearer had already been temporarily arrested on June 17th. He is currently under judicial supervision. The criminal authorities are investigating him on suspicion of disturbing the peace of the dead. (sda/dpa)
