Attack in Berlin: The victim was a mother from Poland

According to information from the “Bild” newspaper, the victim of the attack on the Berlin CSD on Saturday evening was a mother from Poland. It is based on a report from “diplomatic circles”.

The 65-year-old traveled from Warsaw with her daughter to celebrate Christopher Street Day in Berlin. The daughter is said to have survived the crime in the Berlin Tiergarten injured, writes “Bild”. However, the woman has not yet been officially identified because her relatives have not yet seen the body.

The deceased will remain in the coroner’s office until she is officially identified. She will then be released and handed over to the family for burial.

In addition to the fatality, 29 people were injured in the shooting spree on Saturday evening, some of them seriously. On Monday, all of the injured were out of danger. After an intensive manhunt, the assassin was caught and shot by police in a Berlin gazebo on Sunday. (cpf)
