Tragedy struck in Brazil on Saturday. A woman fell around 40 meters to her death while bungee jumping off a bridge. The employees had not previously attached a rope to her. Now new details about the incident are coming to light.
The three Brazilians who threw the woman into the abyss were arrested on charges of manslaughter with conditional intent, writes the Brazilian newspaper Oh Globo. They are currently in custody. According to the newspaper, Judge Paulo Henrique Stahlberg Natal justified the decision by saying that they had tried to escape. He also believes that “their release could lead to a repetition of similarly dangerous acts.” The proposed sentence is between 6 and 30 years.
