Two US fighter jets collided at an air show in Mountain Home, Idaho, on Sunday. Videos on Platform X show how the machines hit the ground and burst into flames. The crews later float to the ground in four parachutes. Rescue workers were on duty, US media reported, and all pilots were said to be doing well.
The air show called the “Gunfighter Skies Air Show” at the US military base took place for the first time in eight years.
Pictures bring back unpleasant memories
The images bring back dark memories of an incident at a US air show in Germany. At least 70 people died in an accident at the US base in Ramstein in Rhineland-Palatinate in 1988. More than a thousand were injured, some seriously. Ramstein is the US Army’s central air hub for Europe and the Middle East. (t-online/con)
