The Union has lost support in a new survey and has fallen behind the AfD. In the survey by the opinion research institute Insa for “Bild” The Union still has 25 percent. This means that it loses one percentage point compared to the previous week.
The AfD is now alone in first place with 26 percent. The SPD still has 16 percent, the Greens 11 percent and the Left 10 percent. The BSW and the FDP would miss out on entering the Bundestag.
Satisfaction with Chancellor Merz has also fallen sharply. Only 23 percent of those surveyed were satisfied, five percentage points less than two weeks ago. However, 67 percent are dissatisfied. The trend is similar when it comes to satisfaction with the federal government. Here, 22 percent are satisfied, 68 percent are currently critical of the performance.
Insa boss Hermann Binkert explains to “Bild”: “Since the numbers for the SPD remain at least stable, it can also be seen that voters who are closer to the Union in particular are increasingly skeptical about the government’s work.”
1,202 people were interviewed for the survey; the maximum margin of error is 2.9 percentage points.
