Ukrainian Drones Strike Redkino Experimental Chemical Plant, a Rocket Fuel Component Manufacturer

_Radio news NewsNow

Strike drones attacked the Redkino Experimental Chemical Plant in Russia’s Tver region overnight on October 9. The facility manufactures chemical products used by Russia’s military-industrial complex.

The monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+ reported on this.

Footage published online shows strike drones flying overhead, followed by explosions and a fire near the plant. Local residents also reported Russian air defense activity in the area.

Tver region governor Vitaliy Korolyov confirmed that a fire broke out at the plant in the settlement of Redkino following a drone attack. According to him, the plant’s employees were evacuated to a shelter in time, and no one was injured. The fire has since been extinguished.

The facility is one of the major chemical industrial sites in the Tver region.

The plant produces specialty chemicals in small batches and manufactures more than 40 types of products for the aviation, aerospace, and other industries.

Its products include ferrocene derivatives, which are used as combustion catalysts in solid-propellant rocket engines, as well as specialty materials, protective coatings, and fuel additives.

According to the Security Service of Ukraine, the plant manufactures components for the special fuel Decilin-M, used in Russia’s Kh-55 and Kh-101 cruise missiles, as well as additives for diesel fuel and aviation kerosene.

In September 2025, the United Kingdom imposed sanctions on the facility. The British government cited its activities in Russia’s strategically important defense and chemical sectors as the basis for the restrictions.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Redkino Experimental Chemical Plant was targeted twice by strike drones in a single night on June 27, 2024.

At the time, Russian sources reported that plant personnel had been evacuated, while Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that four drones had been intercepted over the Tver region.

The plant was also targeted in September 2023 and, according to monitoring channels, in February 2026.
