Republic leader Radij Khabirov confirmed a massive attack on the industrial area in Salawat on Telegram. “There are some pockets of smoke caused by falling drone debris,” he wrote. According to him, there are no deaths or injuries. The fire department is extinguishing the fire. According to media reports, the fires broke out at the oil processing plant.
Salawat is more than 1,400 kilometers from the front. The refinery, which belongs to the oil company Gazpromneft, has a processing capacity of more than seven million tons of crude oil per year. In September 2025 it was already attacked twice. According to Khabirow, she then continued to work without any problems.
Meanwhile, the crisis team in the southern Russian region of Krasnodar reported another attack on the refinery near the settlement of Afipskaya. The facility caught fire, the staff announced on its Telegram channel. There are no details about the damage yet.

Ukraine has increased its attacks on oil industry facilities in Russia in recent months. The consequences are clearly noticeable. Oil processing has fallen to its lowest level in more than 20 years. Many gas stations are empty, others only dispense fuel in limited quantities. Drivers have to wait in long queues to even be able to refuel. (nil/sda/dpa)
