Tulsi Gabbard is stepping down as President Donald Trump’s director of national intelligence, according to a resignation letter she shared on X on Friday.
In the letter, Gabbard said she was stepping aside from the role to support her husband as he battles bone cancer. She will step down from the role on June 30.
Her departure comes after the U.S. launched a joint military campaign against Iran with Israel that tested her place in an unexpectedly hawkish administration.
