Andrew was arrested that morning and released after almost twelve hours. According to police, the investigation is ongoing. Andrew is accused of passing confidential documents to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died in 2019, in his previous role as a trade representative. The 66-year-old has not yet commented on this.
Because of his involvement in the Epstein scandal, Andrew had already lost all honors, military ranks and titles. The ex-prince also had to move out of his property on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre accused Andrew of abusing her several times, including when she was a minor. Andrew always denied these allegations. Epstein had run an abuse ring for years with a still unknown number of victims.
Trump emphasized that he himself had been “completely exonerated” with regard to the Epstein scandal. The US Department of Justice has published countless files from the investigation files in recent weeks, many of which are being further evaluated by the media. (hkl/sda/dpa)
