US President Donald Trump received the first-ever “America First Award” at a Republican fundraising gala in Washington DC.

The award was presented to him by Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Mike Johnson. The prize is a golden eagle, which, according to Johnson, will represent the new “golden era” of America.
After presenting the prize, the US President gave a speech of almost three quarters of an hour. In this he addressed, among other things, the ongoing war in Iran. Donald Trump mentions that he is the first president of the USA who dared to intervene in the conflicts in the Middle East and that, from the USA’s point of view, this conflict has been going extremely well so far. He further said that Iran’s leaders were afraid of making a deal with the United States and would soon beg for such a deal.
Trump also once again dealt against his predecessors. Donald Trump couldn’t resist a little swipe. First and foremost, Donald Trump mentioned former US President Barack Obama, who, in his eyes, was incompetent. As Trump said in his speech, this only divided the country and achieved nothing. However, no one was as incompetent as Trump’s predecessor Joe Biden, he added.
He also said the presence of ICE officers at airports is a good thing. They would take a lot of the burden off the airport staff and do an excellent job. If the ICE officers aren’t enough, Trump also wants to send the National Guard to the airports to support him.
At the end of the speech, Trump said that the Republicans would dominate the upcoming midterms and that they would be clearly in their favor. Current survey results, however, suggest a different conclusion. Finally, Trump appealed to the room that America and the Republicans must stick together to get the country back on the right course.
