Three people died in a serious taxi accident in Istanbul on Friday morning. One of the deceased was a Swiss citizen.
The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA) confirmed a corresponding report from “Blick” to the Keystone-SDA news agency on Sunday.
The Swiss Consulate General in Istanbul is in contact with the responsible local authorities. And the FDFA supports the relatives within the framework of consular protection. For reasons of data and personal protection, no further information can be provided, according to the EDA.
The “Blick” reported on the accident, citing the Turkish news portal Haberler. The taxi driver lost control of his vehicle on his way to Ankara. Three people were killed and one person was seriously injured. (sda)
