The British royal family is growing: Princess Eugenie (36) and her husband Jack Brooksbank (40) are expecting their third child. Buckingham Palace announced this on the short message service X. “His Majesty the King has been informed and is delighted with the news,” it said.

The couple already has two children, their sons August (5) and Ernest (2). The palace posted a photo of the two holding an ultrasound image of their unborn sibling. The two are “very excited”. The announcement did not say whether it would be a boy again or this time a girl.
Eugenie is the younger daughter of ex-Prince Andrew (66), a brother of King Charles III. (77). Her mother is Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson (66), better known as “Fergie”.
Epstein scandal made negative headlines
For Eugenie, the announcement of her pregnancy should be a welcome opportunity to return to the headlines with positive news.
Recently, there have been less pleasant topics that have become a topic of conversation in connection with her. The organization Anti-Slavery International, for which she was a patron, had broken away from the princess. No reasons were given, but it seems likely that her parents’ years-long friendship with US multimillionaire and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein may have something to do with it.
The US businessman ran an abuse ring to which many minors fell victim. Andrew and “Fergie” were close friends with Epstein for many years. They always denied knowledge of the abuse or their own wrongdoing. But over the course of the scandal, Andrew in particular fell deeply: he lost all his offices and titles and had to move out of his luxurious property on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
According to speculation in the British tabloid press, Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice (37) have recently been kept away from public appearances by the royals. (dab/sda/dpa)
