According to media reports, Republican Clay Fuller will replace Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. The majority of citizens in the 14th electoral district in the northwest of the US state of Georgia voted for him, as “Politico” and the “New York Times” reported, among others. US President Donald Trump spoke out in favor of Fuller before the election.
Greene, once an ardent supporter of Trump, had become a bitter opponent of the US President after a public falling out. In November, the right-wing hardliner announced her resignation at the beginning of January 2026. The 51-year-old criticized Trump for how the publication of the investigation files into the case involving sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was handled. Trump, meanwhile, called Greene “crazy.”

Greene expressed frustration in her statement at the time: If she stands up for American women who have been abused, “I should not be called a traitor and threatened by the President of the United States, for whom I fought.”
The House of Representatives is one of two chambers of Congress, along with the Senate. They form the US Parliament. While the House of Representatives has 435 members, the Senate is made up of 100 senators. At the beginning of November, all members of Congress and around a third of the Senate will be reappointed in the important midterm elections. (nil/sda/dpa)
