Pro-Russian hackers have claimed responsibility for a major cyber attack on the French postal service shortly before Christmas. The group “Noname057” claimed to be behind the attack that affected the operations of La Poste on Monday, the Paris prosecutor’s office said on Wednesday. Parcel deliveries were stopped due to the cyber attack. According to the Post, the consequences of the attack had not yet been completely resolved on Wednesday morning.

According to the public prosecutor’s office, the French secret service DGSI is investigating the attack. The “Noname057” group has already been linked to other cyberattacks in Europe, including those related to a NATO summit in the Netherlands and French government facilities.
Because of the cyber attack at the post office, employees were unable to track package deliveries. In addition, online payments via La Poste’s banking division were disrupted.
