A serious accident occurred in the Spanish province of Zamora on Sunday. A car with a Swiss license plate left the highway and burst into flames. One person died.

According to the police, the accident happened early on Sunday morning, local media reports. The car with a Swiss license plate was traveling on the A-11 motorway in the Spanish province of Zamora in the Castile and Leon region at around 1:30 a.m.

The police received several reports about the accident with information that there could be someone else inside the car. According to initial findings, the car left the road near Fresno de la Ribera, hit the guardrail and was finally thrown off the road. It then caught fire and burned out.

The emergency services actually found a fatality inside who was burned beyond recognition, it is said. The victim has not yet been officially identified. The emergency services initially suspected that it was a person from Switzerland because of the license plate.
How El Confidencial Reportedly, it is said to be a 40-year-old Portuguese man who was probably on his way to Portugal. The remains were taken to the Forensic Institute in Zamora for identification.
