Multiple people have been taken hostage inside a bank in the western German town of Sinzig, police have said on Friday.
Cordons have been set up with authorities saying that one of the hostages is the driver of a cash transport vehicle.
Armed suspects have taken one bank employee hostage, according to reports.
“The situation is currently static,” said police.
Special forces are responding to the situation.
A man is reported to have approached an employee outside of the bank and threatened him before forcing him inside. Both of the men are said to be in the vault area according to local media reports.
The incident was first reported in the centre of the small town at around 7am GMT.
