The owner of the tiger that escaped in Germany says she has no explanation as to how the outbreak could have occurred.
«I didn’t do anything wrong. My helpers are 100 percent instructed. I don’t understand what happened here,” she quoted “Leipziger Volkszeitung” the tamer Carmen Zander. She was not there when the incident occurred.

On Sunday afternoon, an adult male tiger escaped from the facility in an industrial area in Dölzig near Leipzig. A 72-year-old helper of the tamer was seriously injured. The police shot the tiger in the area of an allotment garden. According to authorities, a total of nine tigers lived in the enclosure until the outbreak.
Holder doesn’t want to lose Tiger
«I know my system inside and out. I am regularly checked by the authorities. Everything is very safe here,” said Zander. She hopes that the injured helper will recover quickly. Only he knows what happened. “Only he can exonerate me,” said the woman. “The big goal for me at the moment is not to lose my animals.”
The public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into negligent bodily harm caused by omission. The seriously injured 72-year-old was initially available for questioning after the accident. (pre/sda)
