440.6 meters – that’s how long the newly officially declared longest tiramisu in the world is. More than 100 Italian pastry chefs worked together to set a new Guinness World Record on Sunday.
The specifications were clearly defined: the dessert had to be at least 8 centimeters high and 15 centimeters wide.
They stirred, layered and calculated for two days until impressive quantities came together: 19,000 eggs, 400 kilograms of sugar and 128,000 ladyfingers found their way into the XXL tiramisu.
The previous record of 273 meters from Milan was clearly exceeded. The dessert was given a royal tribute: in honor of the king and the royal family, decorated with the message “Grazie your Majesty”.
When the record was finally officially announced at the Chelsea Old Town Hall in London, there was enormous jubilation. Fans and pastry chefs celebrated loudly – accompanied by the Italian national anthem, before the dessert was carefully packed into boxes and made available for collection.
