According to local authorities, around 10,000 people have been evacuated from the affected areas since the large-scale fire broke out. Firefighters are fighting to prevent the flames from spreading further. However, this is difficult because of the constantly changing wind.

The third stage of the Tour de France is scheduled to take place in the Pyrenees on Monday. The race will be held without spectators at the finish location due to the fires. (nib)
