In the early afternoon it was said that the situation was under control. It was said that more than 20 terrorists had been “neutralized”. Images and videos circulated on social media showing bodies of uniformed fighters and burned-out motorcycles.
It was only at the end of April that the Islamist terrorist group JNIM attacked several Malian cities in Mali, in which the defense minister of the Malian military junta was also killed. These were the first coordinated attacks by JNIM and the Tuareg militia FLA, who had previously fought each other. JNIM is the branch of the Al-Qaeda terrorist network in the Sahel. (dab/sda/dpa)
