On April 1st, three US astronauts and a Canadian astronaut launched the Artemis II lunar mission. They spent around 10 days in space and came closer to the moon than anyone had in 50 years.
On April 11, the crew in the Orion capsule landed back on Earth in the Pacific. They were then brought back to shore by special forces.

Canadian Jeremy Hansen and Americans Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch flew around the moon during their time in space. The mission is intended to serve as preparation for a manned moon landing in the future. Victor Glover was the first dark-skinned person to orbit the moon, and Christina Koch was the first woman to leave Earth’s orbit on a lunar mission.
The four astronauts returned safely to Earth, bringing with them unique images and new insights from the moon. (nib)
