After almost 13 years of waiting, the next part of the “Grand Theft Auto” series is getting closer. From Wednesday night, fans can officially pre-order “GTA 6”.

For many gaming fans, the next big countdown begins on the night of June 24th to 25th. “Grand Theft Auto 6” can officially be pre-ordered from midnight. The new part of the series is scheduled to appear on November 19th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
This ends a long wait. “GTA 5” came onto the market in 2013. Since then, developer Rockstar Games has held back for a long time with concrete information about the successor. At the same time, “GTA 6” is considered one of the most anticipated video games ever.

Download possible before release
If you want to play the game on a console, you can download it before the official start of sales. The so-called preload should be possible from November 12th. This means buyers can get started straight away on the day of publication.
PC gamers, on the other hand, still have to be patient. “GTA 6” will not be released for the computer until later. Pre-ordering for the PC version is currently not possible.
Two versions planned
In addition to the standard version for around 80 euros, an “Ultimate Edition” will also be available. This costs around 100 euros and contains additional digital content. According to Rockstar Games, this includes vehicles, weapons, clothing and other extras for the two main characters Jason and Lucia.
Anyone who pre-orders by November 20th will also receive the “Vintage Vice City Pack”. This is a collection of nostalgic outfits and items.

Also physical version with code only
The planned physical version is also noteworthy. This apparently doesn’t contain a disc, just a code with which the game can be downloaded. This means that this variant ultimately remains tied to a digital download.
This should, among other things, prevent physical copies from entering circulation prematurely and content from ending up online before the official launch.

Huge hype before the start of sales
The hype surrounding “GTA 6” is already enormous. The trailers released so far have been viewed hundreds of millions of times on YouTube. Industry observers believe that the game could set new records in advance sales.
Video game journalist Tom Henderson said in the “Insider Gaming Weekly” podcast that “GTA 6” could generate billions in sales faster than any previous title. After its launch, “GTA 5” reached the one billion dollar sales mark within three days. Henderson believes it is possible that “GTA 6” will break this mark in the first hour.
Whether this actually happens will become clear in November at the latest. One thing is already clear: Hardly any game in recent years has been awaited with such great excitement. (mke)
