A four-year-old girl crossed a railway crossing on Lake Constance on her balance bike on Saturday evening. The police said it was hit by a train and fatally injured.
The half barriers were already closed. The girl still drove over the railroad crossing. It was a regional express that drove from Überlingen towards Radolfzell.
The four-year-old was flown to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to police, the girl died that night from her injuries.
There are said to have been around 65 passengers on the train, none of whom were physically injured. (hkl)
