According to police, eight children were killed in a shooting incident in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Sunday morning (local time). According to preliminary findings, those killed were between 18 months and 14 years old, said Chris Bordelon of the local police department. βIt is a very large crime scene where several deceased children can be seen,β he continued.
According to Bordelon, the domestic dispute occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m. in which an adult man shot. He acted alone and should the father of some of the children killed have been. In addition to the underage victims, two adult women were shot in the head and both survived. A boy also injured himself when he jumped from a roof.
The suspect then fled and was then shot by the police after a chase. Bordelon emphasized that there was no longer any danger to the public.
Shreveport in northwest Louisiana is close to the Texas border. In terms of population, it is the third largest city in the state after New Orleans and Baton Rouge (cpf/sda/dpa)
