The Paris Court of Appeal has sentenced right-wing nationalist Marine Le Pen to a one-year prison sentence with an ankle bracelet. It also ruled that Le Pen would lose his right to stand for election for 15 months, with a further 30 months suspended.
This ruling in a case involving possible fictitious employment would make it difficult for Le Pen to run in the presidential election in France next spring. (sda/dpa)
