Chinese President Xi Jinping has begun his two-day state visit to North Korea.

Footage distributed by China’s state news agency Xinhua showed how the plane of state and party leader Xi Jinping arrived in Pyongyang.

It is his first visit to the neighboring country in around seven years. The two heads of state have met six times in the past.
According to Beijing, Xi was expected to discuss bilateral relations and issues of common interest with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during his visit.
Shortly before his visit to North Korea, Xi spoke of “new development opportunities” for the two neighboring countries in an article for the North Korean party newspaper “Rodong Sinmun”. China is considered North Korea’s most important political and economic partner. (sda/dpa)
