US President Donald Trump – an avowed opponent of wind turbines – once again ridiculed Europe for purchasing and using the systems.

China “manufactures all the wind turbines. The only problem is that they don’t have any wind farms,” he said at a press conference.
“They sell them to the stupid people over in Europe. Europe is buying them by the thousands.”
Trump opposes wind turbines. He has been upset several times about the technology being used in Europe. For example, he spoke of a “green fraud,” “perhaps the biggest fraud in history.” Europe is disfiguring the landscape with wind turbines; energy production is far too expensive. He prefers generating electricity with coal and has advocated for it several times during his time in office.

Last summer, Trump also saw Europe facing ruin because of wind turbines and immigration. “You fly over it and you see these wind turbines everywhere, ruining your beautiful fields and valleys and killing your birds,” he said in Great Britain. Wind turbines also harm the sea, he further claimed.
In addition to oil and gas, the USA also relies heavily on nuclear energy. “I signed a regulation that provides for the construction and approval of many new nuclear reactors,” he said at the time. Great progress has been made in the safety of nuclear reactors. (sda/dpa)
