This is what US President Donald Trump wrote on social media about his loyal companion. Several US media outlets consistently quoted a spokesman for Giuliani as saying that he was being treated in a “critical but stable condition” at a clinic in the state of Florida. According to the New York Times, spokesman Ted Goodman did not provide any information about the reason or length of the hospital stay so far.

Giuliani was a “fighter” who met every challenge in his life with “steadfast strength,” wrote spokesman Goodman on Platform X. That’s how it is now. He asked to pray for Giuliani.
Wild claims, lawsuits and the bankrupt vulture
Giuliani was once very respected: He was mayor of New York from 1994 to the end of 2001, including during the attacks of September 11, 2001. His supporters referred to him as the “Mayor of America.” Giuliani later supported Trump – including in the 2016 election campaign.
After his election defeat in 2020, Giuliani continued to stand by the Republican. As Trump’s personal lawyer, he was one of the driving forces who spread unproven claims about alleged voter fraud after the election.
In recent years, Giuliani has had to deal with a number of legal problems, as well as bizarre appearances. When he was sentenced to pay high damages in one case at the end of 2023 following false allegations about alleged election fraud, he filed for bankruptcy. The US state of New York revoked his law license in 2024.
Trump continues to stand by his ally
Trump only announced in September that he wanted to award him the US government’s highest civilian award, the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Now the president also defended his ally. On his platform, with regard to the allegations of alleged election fraud, he wrote in capital letters that Giuliani was “right about everything.” He was treated badly by the “radical, left-wing, crazy democrats”. And now this. “So sad,” the 79-year-old US President continued. (sda/dpa)
