Freight train wagons fall from bridge – person dies

Two wagons of a freight train fell around five meters from a bridge in Munich during the night. One person was fatally injured. This is reported by ZDF, citing a police spokesman.

The police had previously confirmed to the dpa news agency that one person was critically injured in the incident.

According to reports, two freight trains collided while shunting on the bridge. The reason is still unclear. The collision caused two wagons to fall down the bridge and remain on the road.

There is currently no danger to the population. The accident site may remain closed until Sunday. According to a spokeswoman for Deutsche Bahn, there are no restrictions on regional or long-distance transport. (hkl)
