According to authorities, people were killed in an explosion on the premises of a packaging company in the northwest of the USA. The local fire department in Washington state said on Facebook in a joint statement with the company and local authorities that there were dead and injured people. An exact number was not given. The exact extent of the incident is also still unclear.
Emergency services drove to the company in the small town of Longview on Tuesday morning (local time) after a tank exploded there, the fire department said. There is currently no immediate danger to the population in the area. The company produces boxes for liquids. (sda/dpa)
