Iran’s government has shown itself ready for renewed military escalation following threats from US President Donald Trump. “Iran is united and resolutely ready to counter any military aggression,” wrote Deputy Foreign Minister Kasem Gharibabadi on X. “For us, surrender has no meaning. “We either win or become martyrs,” he added.
US President Donald Trump recently threatened Iran with attacks again after negotiations over a permanent end to the war stalled. In his own words, he had stopped a US attack that was supposedly planned for today. Several Gulf states had asked him to do this and “serious negotiations” were underway with Tehran, Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform. (sda/dpa)
