A few days after US President Donald Trump, Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin arrived in China for a visit. The Russian state agency Tass reported on Putin’s landing in Beijing. According to the Kremlin, the talks at the invitation of China’s state and party leader Xi Jinping are about expanding the privileged strategic partnership between the two countries.
Putin said in a video recorded before the departure that he was looking forward to visiting China again. In particular, the new visa freedom also leads to closer contacts between people. Putin also highlighted that the trade volume had grown to more than $200 billion. China is the most important trading partner for energy power Russia.
Wednesday meeting with Xi
According to the Kremlin, Putin and Xi want to discuss their countries’ relations on Wednesday and discuss international and regional problems. A meeting between Putin and Prime Minister Li Qiang is also on the agenda.
According to information from Moscow, around 40 documents will be signed during the visit. This involves, among other things, cooperation in the areas of industry, trade, transport and construction.
