The police in Mallorca have arrested a man who is said to have raped a holidaymaker. The “Mallorca Zeitung” reported on a press release from the Spanish National Police sent out on Wednesday, according to which the crime had already occurred on Sunday, May 10th.

According to the report, the holidaymaker was heading back to her hotel in the early hours of the morning after partying on the Paseo Maritimo party street in Palma. Suddenly the driver of a delivery truck allegedly stopped next to her and dragged her into the vehicle by her arm.
He is said to have driven away at high speed and raped the woman in the car. According to the report, when the man had to stop at a red light, the woman was able to point out her plight and escape. She reported the crime to the police and gave the officers the license plate number of the van. This is how the investigators tracked down the alleged perpetrator.
Mallorca: Second incident in a short time
According to the “Mallorca Zeitung”, the authorities did not provide any information about the age or nationality of the man and the holidaymaker. However, several British media reported that the victim was a British tourist.
