As 50 world leaders from Europe & Canada gather for Armenia’s first-ever EU summit, Genie Godula is pleased to welcome Dr Gesine Weber, Senior Researcher at the Center for Security Studies. She describes the European Political Community summit as symbolically significant yet structurally limited. Amid transatlantic tensions, shifting US engagement, and the rise of powers such as Canada, she sees the summit as an informal platform to address shared concerns and explore a wide array of solutions. Ms. Weber would not go as far as interpreting the current dynamics as signs of a “new world order”.
