Tesla is introducing the advanced version of its driving assistance system in the Netherlands as the first country in Europe. The US electrical manufacturer says it is trying to get permission from authorities in other European countries.

Before approval, Tesla tested the software called “Full Self-Driving (Monitored)” internally throughout Europe, the electric car manufacturer announced.
Tesla boss Elon Musk has been promising for years that full self-driving (for example: completely self-driving) should over time control Tesla vehicles independently. For the current version, in which the person behind the wheel continues to be responsible and must be ready to take control at any time, Tesla introduced the addition “Monitored” some time ago.
In the USA, Tesla drivers have been able to use the FSD software for years. They reported many errors, especially in the early days, but Musk now points to far-reaching improvements.
Permits are required in Switzerland
There are currently certain restrictions on autonomous driving in Switzerland. Again Daily Gazette writes, in order to use a fully independent vehicle, approval from the Federal Roads Office (Astra) is required for certain areas of use. You also need express permission to drive without your hands on the wheel.
You are not allowed to sit back in Switzerland even if you have a fully independent vehicle. You have to be able to intervene at any time if the car warns you to do so. Distracting activities such as using cell phones are therefore prohibited. (dab/sda/dpa)
