According to official reports, five people were injured in Ukrainian drone strikes in the Russian port city and naval base of Novorossiysk. Eight apartment blocks and nine private homes were damaged in the attack, Krasnodar Governor Venjamin Kondratiev wrote on Telegram. He called on citizens to continue to observe precautionary measures. The authorities declared a state of emergency in Novorossiysk.
Meanwhile, the independent portal “Astra” reported a fire in the Shekhsaris oil terminal in the south of Novorossiysk. It was said that this was presumably caused by the drone attacks. Schechsaris is considered a strategically important terminal for Russia for receiving, storing and shipping oil and oil products. It plays an important role in oil exports across the Black Sea. Ukrainian drones damaged Schechsaris in November 2025 in an attack on a military base near the port.
The Defense Ministry in Moscow reported the downing of 172 drones during the night. 67 of them were liquidated over the Black Sea and 66 over the southern Russian region of Krasnodar. (sda/dpa)
