A bus accident in Venice in October 2023 led to high compensation payments.

After a bus accident in Venice that killed 22 people, the survivors have received millions in compensation. A total of 7 million euros (6.4 million francs) was paid out by an insurance company to eleven families, said the Italian company Giesse as their representative.
The company takes care of the out-of-court settlement of claims for damages. The bus fell from a busy bridge in October 2023.
In December, the public prosecutor’s office closed the investigation against seven city employees who had been accused of negligent homicide. (sda/dpa)
