The meeting between Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow has begun. This is shown in a video that the Russian Foreign Ministry published on X.

Cassis made it clear at the beginning that he was not present as a representative of Switzerland. The FDP Federal Council also serves as chairman of the OSCE. “We are here to open doors,” Cassis told Lavrov, who welcomed him.
Lavrov subsequently criticized the OSCE. This risks “self-destruction” and is in a “deep crisis,” according to Putin’s confidant. Nevertheless, it is appreciated that Switzerland, which chairs the organization, has started dialogue with Russia. (dab)
