Shortly before a possible partial shutdown of US government operations, Democrats and Republicans agreed on an interim solution in the dispute over the adoption of the budget. US President Donald Trump wrote this on the Truth Social platform. Leading Democrats also confirmed the agreement, as reported by the TV channel CNN and the New York Times, among others.

The Republican Trump wrote that they had approached each other and that he hoped that Parliament would vote yes. The current interim solution for the budget expires on Saturday night. The Senate is scheduled to meet again today from 11 a.m. (5 p.m. CET) – in the hope of passing the budget before midnight.
Democrats want to end some martial deportation raids
The Democrats had previously announced that they would block the budget legislation in the Senate in protest against the government’s strict deportation policies in US cities. They want to implement changes to the budget of the Department of Homeland Security, which is primarily responsible for the operations.

After the fatal shooting of two US citizens in Minneapolis, the Democrats are demanding, among other things, that federal officers are no longer allowed to appear masked during operations against migrants and that they should also wear cameras on their bodies, so-called body cameras. There is still no agreement on the demands with the Republicans, who have a slim majority in both chambers of the US Congress. In the Senate, however, they also rely on the approval of some Democrats for procedural reasons.
Turn six into five: Is this how the cow gets off the ice?
This is the solution to the budget dispute, which is now suggested according to consistent media reports: Five laws to finance the budget will be passed and the controversial budget of the Department of Homeland Security will first be removed from the package. There should initially be two-week transitional funding for the ministry to allow time for negotiations to tighten the law.
