On Wednesday evening (Swiss time) a plane belonging to the Colombian state airline Satena disappeared – without a trace. The flight had the city of Ocaña as its destination.
According to the flight plan, the plane took off from Medellín on Wednesday morning (local time). “According to initial information, the plane – with capacity for 19 passengers – was scheduled to land at Aguas Claras airport in Ocaña at 12:10 p.m., but never reached its destination,” reports the Colombian daily newspaper “El Heraldo”.
Local authorities are said to have activated emergency protocols. In addition, a crisis team was set up in Ocaña to coordinate search and rescue measures.
Colombian Transport Minister María Fernanda Rojas confirmed on Platform X that there were 13 passengers and 2 crew members on board the aircraft.
