The exact number of soldiers was not known, but it was said to be a “significant contribution”. According to TV2, they are expected to arrive in Kangerlussuaq, about 300 kilometers north of the Greenland capital Nuuk, on Monday. They will be accompanied by the Danish army chief Peter Boysen.
Last week, according to the Danish Arctic Command, around 100 Danish soldiers arrived in Nuuk and around the same number in Kangerlussuaq. They are to begin with the Danish-led military exercise “Arctic Endurance”, in which soldiers from other NATO allies are also expected to take part. (sda/dpa)
