A US immigration agency ICE officer shot and killed an immigrant from Mexico. According to current knowledge, the man, who is said to have been in the USA illegally, resisted officers’ instructions in his vehicle, the Department of Homeland Security said on the X platform.
The driver first rammed an emergency services car and then tried to hit an officer with his car. The officer opened fire.

According to the ministry, the driver was taken to a hospital but died from his injuries. The ministry has launched an internal investigation into the shooting. The FBI office in Houston is also investigating the attack on a federal officer.
According to the ministry, the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning. The authorities did not explain why the man who was killed, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, was said to have been staying in the USA illegally.

In similar cases before, video recordings of the operations had raised considerable doubts about the authorities’ representations. Like the broadcaster NBC News reported, several witnesses took photos and video footage of the incident.
