It’s not just the pop star’s supposedly imminent wedding to football professional Travis Kelce that’s causing hot flashes for some Taylor Swift fans, but also the temperatures in New York.
The US Weather Service is warning of dangerous heat into the coming weekend, particularly on the east coast of the country. In view of this, Mayor Zohran Mamdani has recommended that New Yorkers stay in cool rooms if possible.
“And if you happen to get married at Madison Square Garden, you’ll stay in there and stay cool,” Mamdani said at a press conference when asked about the celebrity couple’s supposedly planned wedding.
Are they getting married soon?
Even though Mamdani looked deep with a mischievous grin, but didn’t officially confirm anything, there are increasing indications that Swift and Kelce might have chosen the world-famous Madison Square Garden for their celebration. As a musician, Swift has performed several times in the huge multi-purpose hall in the heart of the Big Apple.
Recently there have been increasing indications that the couple may have chosen the coming weekend for the big day. This is a very special one in the USA: On July 4th the country celebrates the 250th anniversary of its independence. Because Independence Day falls on a Saturday this time, the Friday before is a holiday.
Mamdani, who says he is not on the guest list, had recently dropped a hint about the possible wedding date: “The Fourth of July, the 250th birthday of America, the wedding of Taylor Swift. Everything happens at the same time,” he said. (maw/sda/dpa)
