Accordingly, a transport company contacted the police early in the morning after the theft was noticed and the bus was located in Sweden thanks to satellite transmission.
According to the information, the boy was taken into custody by the Swedish police, and employees of the Norwegian Youth Welfare Office were on their way to Sweden on Tuesday morning to get him.
The teenager was traveling alone
As operations manager Rune Isaksen told broadcaster NRK, the young person was traveling alone. He got behind the wheel in Vestby, a good 40 kilometers south of Oslo, and was stopped by his Swedish colleagues in southwest Sweden, north of Gothenburg. There has not yet been any information about the 14-year-old’s motive.
A few weeks ago, a similar case made headlines in Germany. A 15-year-old stole a bus in Wiesbaden and used it to drive his girlfriend to school – in Karlsruhe, about 150 kilometers away. (hkl/sda/dpa)
