A meme featuring four criminal men is circulating on social media. These are:
- A rioter who was convicted of participating in the Capitol riots and later pardoned by Trump.
- An ICE agent who abused an inmate.
- An ICE agent who was arrested in a major raid because he wanted sex with a minor.
- A special agent for the Department of Homeland Security who himself produced child pornography.
Andrew Paul Johnson, 44, pardoned by Trump was arrested again in Florida in August. He had sexually molested two children under the age of 16, one of whom was under the age of 12. One child was the son of his ex-girlfriend. Johnson promised him that he would be his heir. Johnson told the boy that not only had he been pardoned, he had also received $10 million in compensation. It is assumed that the boy did not report the abuse because he feared he would be excluded from his inheritance.

David Courvelle, 56, pleaded guilty in late December to of abusing a woman from Nicaragua. Courvelle had been employed at an ICE deportation detention center in Louisiana run by the private company Geo Group. He is said to have had an affair with the woman for several months. Courvelle had smuggled food, jewelry, letters and pictures of his victim’s daughter into the prison. Sexual abuse of an inmate is punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. In the meme, Courvelle is accused of “rape over several months.” The accusation, however, is abuse. The difference is that rape is defined as “non-consensual sexual intercourse, often involving violence or taking advantage of incapacity.” Abuse is a broader category under US law that also includes taking advantage of a relationship of dependency and exploitation.
Minnesota police captured an ICE agent along with 15 other men during Operation Creep in November. The men tried to seduce a 17-year-old into sexual acts. “I’m ICE, boys,” Alexander Steven Back, 41, replied to the police officers when they arrested him – apparently believing that this made him untouchable.
The special prosecutor is 51-year-old Timothy Ryan Gregg of Eagan, Minnesota, who enticed an underage child to perform sexually explicit acts. Gregg wanted to make child pornography out of it.
The victim’s father found the relevant videos and photos on his child’s phone. Gregg was also there. He was arrested by the FBI in June 2025.
Given the enormous number of officers, it is sadly a matter of course that police officers, FBI and ICE officers also carry out criminal acts. But the cases show how dangerous it is to guarantee ICE officers full immunity. Both US Vice President Vance and advisor Stephen Miller have repeatedly emphasized this in the last few days.
